The Aspira Tower, located in the Bai Trao area of Hon Thom Island, Phu Quoc , is becoming a focal point of attention in the real estate and tourism infrastructure market. With a height of approximately 220 meters and 36 floors, it is considered one of the key projects aimed at repositioning the island's tourism brand in the new era.

For many years, Phu Quoc's appeal has primarily relied on its natural marine ecosystem with long sandy beaches and tropical climate. However, as the regional tourism market becomes increasingly competitive, exploiting only natural resources is no longer enough to create sustainable differentiation.
Many globally renowned destinations, such as Dubai with the Burj Al Arab or Singapore with Marina Bay Sands, have proven that iconic architectural structures can completely transform the appearance and status of a region. Phu Quoc is currently entering a similar phase of development, where large-scale infrastructure projects serve as international visual identity.
Glass bending technology and the mark of an international consulting firm.
The most important technical highlight of Aspira Tower is its architectural language inspired by the ocean. The tower is shaped like a sail billowing in the wind, reaching out to the sea, symbolizing the aspiration for conquest and the status of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone.
To realize this concept, the investor, Sun Group, applied a solution of covering the entire exterior with a curved glass system facing the sea. This is the first time such a highly complex architectural solution has been implemented on a large scale in Vietnam. This glass system not only creates a visual effect reflecting the water but also optimizes natural light and maximizes the view for the interior spaces.
Notably, the project involves Arup – a globally renowned engineering consulting firm. Arup has made its mark on many famous skyscrapers around the world, most notably The Shard tower in London. The participation of international experts ensures the technical safety of the complex curved structure under the conditions of the island's maritime climate.
High-end resort ecosystem and operating model
In terms of functionality, Aspira Tower is more than just a high-rise hotel. The project is planned as a multi-functional resort complex, operating under The Luxury Collection brand. The tower will integrate international standard accommodation with upscale amenities such as an infinity pool, sky club, and a high-altitude sunset viewing area.
The podium area is designed with an open concept, directly connecting to the beach. Here, restaurants, commercial areas, and entertainment facilities are arranged to create a self-contained service ecosystem. This approach helps extend the length of stay and enhance the experience for tourists, rather than simply providing accommodation services.
Impact on the planning of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone
The Aspira Tower project is taking place in the context of Phu Quoc officially operating as a special economic zone from mid-2025. Currently, Vietnam has 13 special economic zones under the direct management of provinces and cities, with Phu Quoc expected to be a leading destination for high-end tourism and services.
The emergence of large-scale infrastructure projects such as Aspira Tower, combined with the existing cable car system and entertainment complexes, is driving a shift in the local development focus. Instead of expanding horizontally, Phu Quoc is concentrating on improving the quality of its tourism products to compete on equal footing with other famous destinations in the region.
According to the plan, the tower is expected to be completed after approximately two years of construction. Once operational, the structure will not only be a new architectural landmark but will also contribute to the completion of high-end resort infrastructure, promoting sustainable socio-economic development in the southern part of the island.
