Today's global coffee prices started the week on a downward trend, as the market was simultaneously impacted by favorable weather prospects in Brazil and a decline in liquidity on exchanges.

According to Barchart, weather forecasts indicate that Brazil's major coffee-growing regions will continue to experience dry conditions this week, accelerating the harvesting process and thus increasing pressure on prices.

In addition, the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE)'s two margin increases for coffee futures contracts last week have forced many investment funds to reduce or close their positions, leading to decreased liquidity and increased price volatility.

Reuters also reported that the market is still in a correction phase after last week's strong wave of speculation, as many investors bet on the possibility of El Niño intensifying and negatively impacting coffee production.

According to Dave Behrends, Director of Trading at Sucafina, current price movements are heavily influenced by capital flows, trading positions, and liquidity, rather than simply reflecting traditional supply and demand factors.

The US Climate Prediction Center forecasts an 81% probability of El Niño reaching very strong intensity between October and December, raising concerns about potential supply risks. However, current dry conditions are supporting harvesting, as previous rains in Brazil have slowed the harvest.

According to the ICO, global green coffee bean exports in May reached 10.8 million bags, down 4.1% year-on-year, mainly due to weaker exports of arabica from Brazil and Colombia. Conversely, robusta exports continued to increase by 4.8%, with Brazil alone recording a significant increase of 195.6%, reaching 610,000 bags.

Thus, coffee prices today, July 14, 2026, in the world have reversed and decreased compared to yesterday.
